Why Walking Paws?


Because we love animals and we want to ensure that all pets are cared for and continue to receive the same affection in the absence of their owner.  We also understand that it is often a very difficult for owners to leave their pets in strange surroundings.  We are a turn-key service with trusted and loyal employees.  We will care for your home, pet and community as if they are our own.  We will respect your neighbor’s lawns and make sure dogs have clean paws before reentering your home.  Walking Paws employees not only love animals, but they are knowledgeable and experienced in caring for many different types of animals with all sorts of personalities, special needs, disabilities and illnesses.  ONE staff member will be assigned to your animal to ensure a trusting relationship.  We will make sure that our visits are full of fun and exercise.  We even have ways to lure a shy cat out for some love and playtime!!!

Our main goal is to minimize the amount of disruption to your pet's lifestyles.  We arrange to visit your home on a daily basis so pets are able to remain in their own familiar and conformable surroundings.  Whether you are away for just the day or a two-week vacation, we will love, feed, walk, play with and care for your pets while you’re gone.  Leaving your pets at home in our care will give them a secure feeling in their familiar environment.  Pets are able to enjoy their normal routine and diet, avoid possible exposure to illness from other animals while receiving lots of one-on-one attention.  All of this will help reduce their stress level in your absence.

Key Keep Membership

Most customers would rather loan their pet sitter a key rather than trying to set up key pick-ups for every visit.  To avoid any extra time and cost we are using a Key Keep System.  You would just fill out an authorization for us to make and keep two keys to your home and pay an one time $5 enrollment fee.  One copy of your key will be kept locked in our office with a “just in case coding system” that burglars could never figure out.  The other is coded and given to your sitter.  We have even had clients lock themselves out of their homes and call us rather than a locksmith or window repair company!  We are a lot cheaper and more reliable.  Plus we are just a phone call away. 703-434-0910
