My name is Trish and I have lived all my life in Northern Virginia and currently live in Kingstowne.  I graduated from Hayfield Secondary School and George Mason University.  I have done a variety of things career-wise but during the past 15 years, I have been a stay-at-home Mom and managed investment property.  I am currently a licensed Realtor©.  The great thing about that is that I can still be available during the day to walk your dog!  I love the outdoors and getting the fresh air and exercise, in addition to loving dogs.  Some of my other interests include travel, tennis, gardening, and decorating my house.

I am the mother of an 18-year-old daughter and I currently have a 7-year-old basenji.  She is a quirky but lovable dog.  I have always loved dogs, and all animals.  Growing up I owned two collies, a bullmastiff, and a couple of mutts (although not all at the same time!).  I also had a cat at one time, so I am familiar with caring for them as well.  I am responsible and mature and will treat your home and pet as if they were my own.

My name is Kaye Jones and I am a resident of Kingstowne, Alexandria, VA.  I have a genuine love for animals and care about them very much.  Dog walking, checking in on cats, whatever the need may be, caring for these animals gives me a great deal of pleasure.  Maybe we'll meet on the dog path with my Beagle, Sweet Pea.

Hello, my name is Maria-Eugenia Kaminsky and I go by the nickname Maby (pronounced “mah-bee”).  I have been in Northern Virginia for 12 years and have lived in Alexandria for 8 years.  I love animals and always seem to make immediate friends with the dogs and cats that I meet.  My own dog named Coqueta, lived to be 17 years old in my home country of Bolivia.  I am always feeding our backyard birds and derive joy from watching & photographing the wild animals that make their way onto our deck.  I have performed pet sitting in Alexandria for 6 years and I am flexible in my availability to take care of your pets at the times you need.  When I’m not taking care of animals, I volunteer for the Fairfax County Victim’s Assistance Network (VAN).  In this duty, I respond to hotline calls from victims of sexual assault and domestic violence; specializing in assisting Spanish speaking victims.  It brings me a great deal of satisfaction to provide these services and I look forward to meeting your pet sitting needs.

Chris Thiel

Hello.  I am Chris Thiel.  I am a long time resident of Kingstowne with over 16 years living in the community.  I enjoy all types of animals and am particularly fond of Cocker Spaniels.  I have two of my own – Hope and Molly.  I have also been a foster volunteer with Oldies But Goodies (OBG) Cocker Spaniel Rescue which rescues neglected, abused or forgotten cocker spaniels from the Northern Virginia area.  In the 7+ years I have been with OBG, I have fostered well over 80 dogs.  I am known in OBG for taking in the more difficult dogs and training them to be trusting of people and develop skills that allow them to go on to be adopted as happy and healthy pets.  I am also available to help train you and your dog if you are experiencing difficulties.

I am also a volunteer with Rebuilding Together Alexandria (formerly Christmas in April) which partners with volunteers and the community to rehabilitate the homes of low-income homeowners in the Alexandria area so that they may continue to live independently with warmth and safety.

Hi, my name is Casey Johnson and I was born and raised in Alexandria, VA. I graduated from Thomas A. Edison High School and am currently a full-time student at Ferrum College. I have taken Animal Science, which we learned and cared for animals all day. From cleaning cages and washing cats and dogs.  I also volunteered myself to Saturday Dog Washes for local shelters.  My families home is called a zoo.  I have nothing but that love and affection for the animals I come across every day.  I give the same to the pets I see working with Walking Paws.  I have played soccer all my life and still to this day play at college.  So long energetic walks with your dog(s) would do me wonders for the off season!

Hi!  My name is Leesa and I am a native of Northern Virginia.  I am truly an animal lover in every sense of the word, and often, my friends and family tease me that I would much rather spend time with animals than with humans.  When I was 7 years old, my dad brought home my first puppy.  It was love at first sight!  Here was this adorable little german shepherd/husky mix in a shoe box that needed my love and care.  From that day on, a fabulous  friendship was forged!  I named him Shere Khan after the Jungle Book tiger and he literally became the sibling that I never had as an only child.  Shere Khan and I were inseparable for the next 15 years.  Having him as part of the family truly showed me how important pets are to our mental and physical well being and I cannot imagine a home without the love of a pet.  I now live in Springfield with the apple of my eye, my dog Sasha.  She is a 13 year old Shepherd/Husky mix as well, and I feel truly blessed to have her as a part of my life. I am truly excited about the opportunity to help you care for your furry friends!

TAMMY

Hi, my name is Tammy and I am originally from Madison, WI.  I moved here with my husband after he accepted a job offer at Georgetown University as an Assistant Professor in the Cell Biology department.  I left my job of 13 years at American Family Insurance.  I grew up with many cats and dogs.  My parents, at one time, had 5 pugs who were loved dearly.  As teenagers (my siblings and I)…if they were gone on a trip….one of us were required to sleep with all of them!  In my (single) twenties, I had two cats  (Siamese named TJ and a tabbycat named Scrappy).  Although I lost my Siamese to diabetes, my husband and I managed to control her diabetes for 2 years with daily shots of insulin.  When my husband and I finally bought a house, we wanted a dog.  We found LEO on petfinder.com.  He was a rescue dog.  We felt he was lonely during the day while we were both working full time, so we found Pluto and rescued him from a rural shelter.   They are both mixed breeds.  They sleep on our bed every night!   We love them dearly.  Next came our children......I have been a stay at home mom for 5 years. We have two beautiful boys!!   My youngest is now entering kindergarten this year.  I am excited to get back into working!  I love working out at the gym and have decided that dog walking would be perfect for me.  It’s flexible, will keep me fit and I love animals!  I have excellent work ethics, believe in good communication, and hard work.  I am very trustworthy and have commonsense.  I know how important a pet can be to someone.  They are not just animals.  They are one of the family and you love them more than anything.  You would do anything for them.   You want the best care for them and I can help you with that!!

Hi.  My name is Maria.  I have lived in the Kingstowne area for the past 12 years with my husband and two children.  I have had the privilege and pleasure of being a dog owner to Madison, a border collie mix we found in the North Georgia mountains prior to living in DC, and her son Cubby for the past 16 years.  We also have 4 sibling Chinese Dwarf Hamsters that have been part of our family for almost a year.  I feel such a bond with all sorts of animals, especially dogs, and any opportunity I have to be around them is a wonderful experience.
